Hot folder : sub directories

Dear All,

If I create a directory in a hot folder will that directory be created in mediabin ?

If the answer is no, what alternatives are there as I do not want a hot folder for every directory?

Not sure of your use case here. Presumably you do not want to continuously create folders? The usual way to populate an existing hierarchy is via drag and drop into the Windows Native Client.

Yes...with a distinction. HotFolders does process subfolders...so if your structure has a root folder than you only need a single hotfolder on that root folder to watch for any new assets added to subfolders. If a destination MediaBin folder does not exist that matches the source filesystem subfolder, it will bre created and the incoming asset will be placed at that location.

I say with a distinction because simply creating a subfolder within a hotfolder will not cause an equivalent subfolder to be created in MediaBin. The folder will not be created until there is a file within that subfolder to process.
