Virus Scan causing deploy/rollback failures

Our live antivirus scanning is causing deployment and rollback failures, I believe I heard this was a lingering issue from an OD team member some time ago.

What are the solutions or workarounds?

Turn scanning off? Not a good option, probably would not fly with our security department.

Extend timeout setting on od?

Other?

What i'm finding is when I do a full deploy of our site it appears the live virus scanning delays the deployment and the deployment seems to timeout.

Then when OD tries to rollback the deployment the live virus scanning occurs again (given that it is i/o) and thus the rollback fails.

Now the target directory is left with several iwnew, iwold, and missing files.

seems you need to configure virus scan to handle this.I dont think increasing the timeout will help seems you never know how much time the virus scan will take.
what virus scan s/w being used here?

How are you sure that the Virus scanning is the root cause? Have you tried a smaller deployment ? or turning off transactional deployments to reduce overhead on OD and the receiving server? what error do you get? Does OD core? How much space available on the target location ? how much space do you have available for OD logging on the target location?
