Migrating the Users, Roles and Permissions from TS6.5(Win2k) to TS6.7.1(solaries10)

Dear Friends,

I have installed TS6.7.1 sp1 on Solaries 10 and the existing TS6.5 running on win2000 server. Now I want to migrate the all the users,roles and permissions from TS6.5 to TS6.7.1. On 6.5 there are distinct .uid file resides according to the roles and as far i know on 6.7.1 only xml file need to configure for users(tsusers.xml), as well for group(tsgroup.xml) and roles.xml.

Can anybody suggest me the steps how to migrate 6.5 users,roles,permission on 6.7.1. I would be very greatfull to you all.

This will be pretty much manual. While it will be tedious, it is not complex, just many moving parts to fix.

What are you using for user authentication ? OD (Solaris/Windows) or LDAP ?

The bigger issue is the backingstore.

I hope you have run iwaccessmigrate -nm command after iwmigrate ?

Note iwusermigrate, iwaccessmigrate, migrate_non_root, what is run on your behalf automatically, etc

OS will authenticate the users.

so far i have not run any command. Want to make sure what steps should be followed. The new TS6.7.1 solaris box have no content in it, is empty. simply want to migrate the users and roles. i think for this my steps should be:-

1. copy all the .uid and .gid files to new server.
2. Run iwaccessmigrate
3. Run iwusermigrate
4. Restart the server.

m i'll be moving on the right track??? Plz suggest.
