External Task Development Tool Choices

hi all

can somebody help to figure out that what will be best/feasible approach for a developer(having past experience on java,j2ee) to develop external task.

should i go for

shell scripting
interpreted scripting
java

consider the case that a task can develop using all three. ?

I will suggest to go through existing WF files and check out what you find comfortable. :-))

If you are interested to learn something new and can afford to spend more time in debugging, then go for the other two.
Anyways, its always a learning process ;-)

It would be good if you look into some sample code and then decide what suits you. I guess you know your coding style better than anybody else... Smiley Happy

In our project we use Both java and Perl .

Truly speeking it depends on what the external task has to do . What would be performance/memory issues with using either perl/java or shell .

Then you have to consider the maintenance factors also . like perl would be easy to maintain and all.

So you have to consider the whole lot of factors before deciding .
