access.log

Is it possible to turn off logging for access.log somewhere? This log just grows and grows and seems to provide no useful information anyway.

I did notice in our access.log that some users where getting files related to tinymce even though none of our templates have the tinymce editor. What's the deal with that? Is VFE using assets from the tinymce folder?

You can recycle it on periodic basis for better maintneance approach.

Better to take a incremental backup of the file, out of the mounted store.

Okay - I give up - what does your response have to do with the question?
The access.log is in iw-home/local/logs/iwui/ - not in the backing store (assuming that's what you meant by "mounted store") - and why would you care about taking incremental backups of a log file that was already described as providing no useful information?
I would tend to agree with YanSi on this - I'v rarely found the information in that log to be of any value, and the few snippets of information that do look like they might be useful tend to get lost in all the other "noise".

I'd suggest filing a feature request with IWOV support - if not to eliminate, to at least tune (or provide options for tuning) the verbosity / amount of information that gets stored in that log file.
