With TeamSite 6.7.1 SP1/Workflow Modeler 1.0.0 SP1 you are able to create custom Java classes to be run either before or after the workflow instansiation screen is displayed.

One of the method documented in the JavaDocs for Group tasks is addSharedByUsers(List) that lets you add additional users to share the task (in addition to those specified in the WF model it's self).

In short - it doesn't work.

This does not seem to be covered by TeamSite 6.7.1 SP1 Patch 73875.
