DD does not delete rows from a non-root group
koryakm
I have a DCT where the user can has a replicant where they can establish multiple relationships between the current record and other records.
when i deploy this DCR i deploy the uid of this DCR (auto-generated) and ids from the replicant to a mapping table.
the problem i am having is that if a user adds 5 ids to the replicant, saves the DCR, and then deletes 3 of them, DD does not seem to register this deletion.
I think this may be because the group of the mapping table deployment is not root.(but it cant be)
my dd file is attached.
PROCEDURE_DEVICE_MAP by the way is the map that is having this problem
ps. how does one paste in xml? what tag do i use so it actaully shows up?

which database are you using and how do you know that the deployment is not taking care of the deletions. As I knew, DD Basically deletes the complete table and then writes it back during a deployment. In which case, I feel there is some problem with your database or your deployment is not going well

i am using oracle 10g
the interesting thing is that if i comment out everything from the DD file but the mapping table deployment, and set it as root group, then deployment works and all deletions and updates work as expected.
i do not really know why this is though.
for some reason when the grouping is not root-group then i might be able to add 5 items to it, delete 3 but the deletions wont make it out to the DB and the connection between teamsite "knowing" that these records are part of the DCR will be lost forever. - this is bad.
thanks for the quick reply.

This might not solve your problem but I saw couple of discrepancies in your config file
1. The parent group is not mentioned for the PROCEDURES GROUP
2. Foreign key not specified.
3. If you want to use 2 primary keys for this table use
<primary-key>
<key-column name="procedure_content_id"/>
<key-column name="device_content_id"/>
</primary-key>

thanks,
that was the solution that i needed. I ended up including 2 primary keys and 1 foreign keys and that did the trick. thank you very much!
