workflow model, how to access global variables

Hi,

In the new workflow model 1.0.0.1 there is an option called global configuration variables. Is there any way these can be accessed in pre process, post process command or in the custom instatiation DCT.

If no, then what is the way to set their values programatically and not via showing the custom DCT to the user.

I think this is a pretty valid scenario and Interwoven should and must have provided some option to do that.
