Appending to an XML thru TPL

Hi,
I have a requirement where I am reading the values from an XML on the fly and display it as pair in the DCT(right now i have done it in dropwons-one having the dropdown for from the xml and a textbox showing the value of the key based on the key being selected).
The user is allowed to edit only the value. When the user saves it and generates it, the same xml from which this DCT has been populated has to be opened and updated with the new for the corresponding . Is there anyway of doing it. I have populated the in a dropdown and corresponding in textbox thru ipl. But now the requirement is to put on a label and on text box. I am not sure abt how to do this bec now I am just setting the options of dropdown using "dropdown.setOptions(array)". But in this case(label and textbox) I dont know how to do..And also I am not clear on how to open an xml file, update or append to it.
Can anyone pls help me out of this?

You have asked a lot of things, which you have to labour and go through the documentations provided.You have to help yourself regarding updating the xml file, people can help you here in developing the concept and troubleshhooting.

Please refer to the manuals for 1).
Do you want to update the xml file on save of the dcr, or on generate ?
