Preview returns blank page

Does this happen for all users ?

Make certain that you can correctly generate content, can you generate from the GUI instead of preview ? Does iwpt_compile generate the expected file ?

I would check the TS users, esp TSIMP_hostname, check that login is it locked out for any reason ?

ICSBorisB, tried the solution you posted, to no avail.

Restarting iwproxy didn't solve the problem, nor did replacing it with the pre-SP1 version... I'm really stuck on this one.:eek:

Any IIS changes or user changes ?

Did you try clearing your IIS Chache? What kind of pages are these? ASPs, JSPs, HTMs.

I am having the same issue on 6.7.1 SP1 Patch 1 with Solaris 10.. but it "seems" like a permissions problem, but I can figure it out.. I have tried the various KB items, with no success. I have opened a ticket with interwoven on this.

seems a couple of users can preview/generate but not the branch admin, and not most users.. this too started out of the blue (as far as I can tell)..

I am seeing the following error in my servletd_out.log when the blank page comes up, but not when the developers log in.. as you can see adminbpu throws and error, but jrandall goes thru just fine on the same page.. hopefully support gets back to me soon.

jrandallnyc, checked my logs, and I'm getting the exact same stack trace. We have gone through our user configurations, and we haven't found anything that may cause this error. Basically, our DEV users, like ggan below, are Windows Administrators, TS masters, and have full control over the entire Content Store...

jrandallnyc, checked my logs, and I'm getting the exact same stack trace. We have gone through our user configurations, and we haven't found anything that may cause this error. Basically, our DEV users, like ggan below, are Windows Administrators, TS masters, and have full control over the entire Content Store...

well I have an open case (since monday) with support on this issue.. I will report back as soon as they come back with something. in my case, the deveopers can get in, but not the users.. though I am on Solaris 10, not windows, its clearly the same error.

Did you try clearing your IIS Chache? What kind of pages are these? ASPs, JSPs, HTMs.

Our pages are HTML, plain and simple, with no SSI.

This may seem like a silly question, but, how do I properly clear the IIS cache? Is it enough to cycle the web server instance, or do I have to cycle the entire service?

would you mind sharing your case# with me? I have a conf call with them at 1PM EST today and would like to have as much info as possible..

also, one thing I just found out after some debugging, I believe this might have something to do with the submit.cfg.. if I create a NEW workarea and copy over the files manually (not get latest), and dont submit the files, I can preview with all the correct users.. once I submit them, I can no longer preview... I am us TS Groups..

Someone submitted (via iwsubmit commandline) one or more of the zz_tst files. Then it got deleted and preview cannot reuse the filename. Serious pain to fix, so I just get around it by upping the preview limit.

The preview files show wherever the templating.cfg preview directory says to put them, also if you use iw_ostream then it is in yet another location.

ok.. some more info..

in the root of the workarea, there are the zz*.html files

in the templatedata directory are the zz*manifest files

this is the default for IW as of 6.7.1 SP1 (or at least 6.7.1 SP1 patch1)

if I go and delete the manifest files, I can preview again.. but once they are there, they are not recreated again, and preview no longer works. so I go an delete them again.. and I can once again preview.. I even tried to chmod 777 those files (before deleting them) to see if that helped, and it did not.

Hi Andy,

IW support asked me to create and delete zz file which was submitted to staging previously manually as you mentioned and it is not able to create that file again and the issue now for us is even more worser.
