Passing variable to external task script in workflow model

Hi,

I am using workflow model 1.0.0.1 and I am trying to call a perl script from external task. I need to pass a parameter to this script which is a variable in the workflow model.

Anyone has idea how to pass a variable to an external task script in workflow model.

Not sure what your question is... If it is a configurable variable just pass it as $IW_CV('variableName')Is that not working? Any how why do you want to do the above when you can get your variable value from your external task script itself?

External task script can not have that variable, becuase this is entered in the custiom DCT and stored as global variable.

I thought task variable, workflow start op are the variables which will actually pass values but that did not work.

I didn't get your problem. Infact Job Variables are a good way to pass values between tasks. You can access the value of the job variables using simple perl code.

Please post your code snippet where you are trying to access the job variable.

Please provide some ifo about your queries:

1. Where are you initializing the variable and its value?
2. Where you wamt to extract its value?
3. At last, what exactly is your requirement?

Dolly, did you try getting these variables in script itself. I think the clt is job->getJobVariables or something like that..?

First of all sorry for replying late.

Thanks a bunch for all the replies. This problem was solved the same within an hour after i posted. In workflow model 1.0.0.1 we need to pass these as $IW_CV(variableName).

Same thing was also mentioned by Munish.
