eWebEditPro=XML license key is either missing or invalid

Having a really strange problem with Visual Format. We are getting the following error appear.

WARNING: All XML functionality is disabled

The eWebEditPRo+XML license key is either missing or is invalid. To use XML, you must provide eWebEditPRo+XML with a valid XML license key. Please add the key to the 'ewebeditprolicensekey.txt' file.

The strange thing is it only appears in one of our DCTs and only on our production server. Our dev server has the same DCT but the Visual Format field loads no problem. It also loads fine on all our our DCTs on both production and dev.

Any ideas?

Please specify your TS and OS version.
Is the VFE only in this dcr, or other dcrs too which are working fine ?
Have you made any customisations in your visual format config file ?

Take a look here. Chances are, you have problems with custom configuration (external-editor-config attribute) used somewhere within this DCT VFE Item

Thanks for your help. Turns out the person (not me) who deployed it to prod forgot to deploy the file referenced in the external-editor-config attribute.
