LiveSite vs TeamSite ?

I have worked on TeamSite but I do not have much exposure to LiveSite. Now as we have bought LiveSite we want to do some analysis / study to understand as what is the major functional differences between TeamSite and LiveSite?

We would also like to move some of our small / less critical web applications to LiveSite but again we need some expert opinion there.

Can anybody tell us as what kinds of application should go for LiveSite implementation?

Hi Ambuj,

I hope you have already read the product features from Interwoven corporate website as what is LiveSite and Teamsite. In general Teamsite is having Content Storage and Content displaying capabilities using DCT/DCR and DCR/PT. It manages the web content statically whereas Livesite is for dynamic delivery of content on the webpage. Just like WYSIWYG.

In my opinion, the applications which you want to move over LiveSite should be more critical, where you can change your content LIVE on server itself. No need to process through edition of DCR, previewing and generating the content and deploying it later.

Yeah I have gone through the features and I also looked into below pdf.

Just wanted to have some expert opinions to understand the implementation better. Those who have worked upon both tools can provide better understanding which would be tough to get just from documents. Smiley Happy

LiveSite(LS) has two parts


(1) Site Publisher(SP) - A UI toolkit integrated with CCPro and CCStd.
(2) LiveSite Runtime - A web application context rendering content created with SP

SP allows creation of web content based on LS components, create segments(a context for part of the website(User_type=business_user or User_age < 25) thus creating a website which is tuned and customized in the way the web pages are served to your end users.

Pages thus created are published in to LiveSite Runtime, which understands LS components, segments, users... and renders them accordingly.

The capabilities of LS in creating such targeted web-sites are numerous to list here.
