Can I unlock files that other users locked.

Hi All,

What is the setting that I ned to set in roles.xml which allow a perticular group of users allow to unlock files which other users locked ?

I can unlock my files. Not others.
I need to use visual toolbar in this purpose.

Please response. Urgent

At least in TeamSite 6.1 the master role can unlock files that are locked by other users.

What rev of TS ? OS ?

According to the manual the check is that the user/group is the owner of the workarea or the owner of the lock. As well, Master and Branch Administrator can remove locks.

So if those are not the case, then should be able to write a custom menu item to run iwunlock (you may need to run it as tsadmin or some user with master) and unlock it.

That is how. Now I will give my caveat. THIS IS A BAD IDEA. Locks occur for a reason. Now in 6.7.1 SP1 the model for locks has changed where a lock happens only when the file gets updated. So if you have people edit and forget, then the lock never happens.

This is really a training issue and/or an implementation issue (bad workflow)
