8.2 sp1 msoffice xp sp3 enhanced dialog file type error

Using Filesite:
In MSWord when saving a document the enhanced dialog box returns the
incorrect filetype as "ms-dos text with layout".
If the word Save options default file type is changed to someting like
*.dot this change flows through, but no the *.doc default.
Operated correctly in 8.2 Patch 6. Above errors do not occur in XLS.
