Why are you trying to call a perl file inside TPL ? you can code perl in tpl.

I am having a perl file while which has common functionality. This perl file will be used by different tpl's.

Well,

You have a number of options.

Using the perl system command, backticks ``, qx(command in here), but would probably be better if you could extract your functionality to a perl module .pm file.

If performance is not an issue use the system call or backtics. However is speed is important, then make this a perl module.

Adam Stoller wrote a white paper a number of years ago that shows the performance difference with system vs PM. If I can find a link I will post it, but the difference was drastic.
