Update XML

Hi,

On click of generate button i am generating 3 xml output files. I use ostream for this purpose

For each DCR, I have to make an entry in one of the XML file that is getting generated. When ever i change some value in the dcr and click on Generate button the same XML must be updated.

Now the problem is the XML is geting updated, but at any point it has values for only one DCR.

If i use append true attribure of ostream, then the entire xml gets appended, but i want only few tags to be appended.

Can any one please help me.

Looking at your tpl code, does the multiple <iw_else> tags work corresponding to one <iw_if> tag ?

My guess is that you'd either need to iterate through all the DCRs each time and completely regenerate that XML file - or make sure the XML file clearly defines the source of the content that is being updated or appended within it and then programmatically deal with that based on the DCR being processed (this does not seem to be the case with the code you posted).

You could simplify the code you posted a bit using (at least) some perl - like:[html]

Iterating through a directory of files, and even recursively through a directory tree of files - is fairly basic stuff; applying it to TeamSite is generally pretty easy too.

I suggest you buy some books and learn Perl (or program in a language you do know and in which you can interact with XML files) - or hire someone who is skilled in such matters. Alternatively, find a training course (community college?) for Perl - and go through the course.
