set_inner_xml not working-urgent

Hi,

I have an ipl file(attached) in which i m trying to use set_inner_xml to modify the dcr data. tag name is 'modelCategoryModelId' which is to be modified with the value of 'modelCode' tag.
Could somebody please help at earliest?
the particular piece of code is below:

opendir DIR, $catdir;
@catfiles = readdir(DIR);
closedir DIR;

Yes. of course. I tried implementing the same.... However, I am not sure why it is not working for me. I am trying to set the values from one DCR to another DCR for an item model id.

Looks like character escaping is missing. Try escaping special characters before inserting the string and you can also add utf-8 encoding, if you want.

This line of code will take care of encoding and escaping:
XML::XPath::Node::Text->new(encode("UTF-8",$str))->toString;

what is happening? Can you please diagnose this and tell us the below -

expected XML output..
actual XML output .. (Did you try validating this?)

Please highlight the problem section..

PS - Put comments in your code to highlight what you are doing and problem section

expected XML output..there shud be a value inserted here(e.g. model id like phones)

You need to learn how to code Perl better:

In short - the above code, as posted, should not work - and the fact that it doesn't is hardly a surprise.I suggest you get / read some decent Perl programming books and work on this some more - or hire someone who knows Perl to help you.
