Hide directories in TeamSite 6.7.1
sreedhardasari
Hi,
We have the following out-of-box options to restrict users from accessing unauthorized workareas/branches.
- "Require read access to list workarea contents."
- "Require read access to list branch contents."
Likewise, does anyone know of any way to restrict users from accessing directories to which they don't have read permissions? Or in other words hide directories from UI with No Read permissions.
Here is a scenario:
There are 2 users (User X, User Y) with editor role, have permissions to access directories in a workarea called "intranet". User X is a member of groupx and User Y a member of groupy. I have created 2 directories (static, functional) under WA and have set the group ownership of "static" directory as groupx, "functional" directory as groupy and modified the read permissions of "Others" on both directories to "No Access".
So when User X logs into TS, functional directory is grayed out (as he doesn't have read permissions on directory) and when User Y logs into TS, static directory is grayed out. But User X and User Y are able to do operations like submit and Get Latest etc on the directories that they don’t have read permissions. So my question is... Is there any way to restrict them from seeing the directory to which they don't have read permissions?
Environment: TS 6.7.1 on Solaris 9
Any help in this regard is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Sreedhar
