Wrong translation on Login Button

Hi,

I have a big problem. I have installed TS 6.7.1 SP1 on Windows 2003 SP2.

The Login Button caption on the startpage was wrongly translated to german by the Interwoven developers.

Is there any chance, that I can change the translation ?

I suggest you file a case with Interwoven Support - they should be able to point you towards where/how to fix the translation - but more importantly, they should be made aware so that Engineering can fix it in the product.

Ghoti, Can Diagnostic tool retrieve the problem? Well this issue is fairly new to me.

First of all Interwoven support will ask you to step down a service pack on your operating system. Bring it down to Win 2003 SP1 . I have seen some problems with SP2 and 6.7.1 sp1. As Adam said open a case with support.

we found the location to fix the translations.

You can find it in: iw-home\private\lib\content_center\teamsite.tk.war
Inside this war-file you'll find the teamsite.jar

And inside the teamsite.jar you have to change the common_de.properties file.
the last two chars of the filename _de is the language.

I think I will file a issue with teamsite support anyway.

@lilleywhite: How do you know about the issue with W2003 SP2 ? Would be quite usefull to know details about that.

There is no issue which is caused explicitly by SP1 of windows 2003, but we had a problem with IIS which is giving me "Service Unavailable" when i am previewing any DCR. I am still trying to resolve this with support. But support said to down grade my Service pack to SP1.

Hi,

to change the login button label you can simply copy the original login.jsp
from the content_center webapplication (below iw-home/httpd/...)
into the directory iw-home/local/config/lib/content_center/customer_src/web/teamsite/auth
and correct the label there.

Don't forget to start make_toolkit.ipl after that.

So, you don't have to change any files within delivered jars or wars and you don't have problems with any software updates...

I don't think your solution will work across multiple languages unless you hard code all the values in the JSP.

The properties file is the right place to correct, and agree that Interwoven support should provide a fix for it, as they did with some of the CC Standard portlets back when 6.1 came out. Fixing the properties file now is a short term fix that most likely will get broken in a future TeamSite patch until the update makes it in on Interwoven's side.
