Does TeamSite cache store names...

TeamSite 6.7.1
Window 2003

I am attempting to rename the content store from myTest to mytest on a windows platform...what is the simplest, easiest way to accomplish this?

The following proved unsuccessful:

1. Deactivate myTest and activate mytest did not seems to do the trick.

2. Stop all services and rename the content store to OLD,
Create a new content store called mytest
Copy everything from OLD to mytest,
Start the services and activate mytest.

Your thoughts?

Is 'myTest' defined anywhere within your iw.cfg file? If so - you'll probably need to change that too.

(I'd suggest using Unix where case sensitivity matters - but that's a big can-o-worms ;-)

It is unsafe and unsupported to overwrite store contents, which is what you appear to be describing.

Unfortunately, the store name is written into the store registry in a case-insensitive fashion.
