Scheduled FileList and Nightly Directory Comparison

Authors will set the deployment date in the Tagging UI and a workflow external task reads the date from the EA and using parameters adds a File List scheduled deployment using the 'iwodcmd schedadd' command.

The client would also like a nightly Directory Comparison deployment to ensure that any manual changes made to content on the web server are over written with approved content from the web server.

If the scheduled deployment is set for a week from now, is there a way to make the nightly Directory Comparison deployments aware of the scheduled deployment's files and ignore them?

If I understand the setup correctly - you're concerned about files which have been approved for date-X (e.g.: 2008-02-15) that have been submitted (so they're in staging) and you're going to have a comparison deployment run tonight (e.g.: 2008-01-24) and you want to make sure the modified/approved/submitted files that are not supposed to go out until 2008-02-15 don't go out tonight - right?

Well - there are several possible ways I can think to do that - but not with OD specifically (i.e.: there's no way to have an OD dir-diff deployment skip certain files unless you constantly setup / change filters in the deployment config file)

Ideas to consider:
