How to restrict ownership of the task

Hi All,

I have a situation where a user starts the workflow after a couple of steps the content will go to content approvers if the content approvers reject the content the workflow will return to the content approver and only person who started the workflow shoud be able to work on that
1)would i deal with this situation by making the task the workflow is returning to after rejection as a group task and make shared by property to only the workflow starter

is there any other best way to handle this????

Your question is not very clear. You need to have user task for the person initiating the workflow and this user task needs to assigned to $iw_user. This task becomes active the first time the approvers reject the work. If reviewers do not reject the content then this task is not activated at all..

Yes you got it right, the first time the user task gets activated is when the approvers reject content.

but by making making the user owner of the task , i am not able to restrict the other users from working on the task[what i mean by working is any user can make can make changes to the file and take the workflow to the next task]

I am sorry but what was happening was even after making the user the owner of the task, I was able to login as myself and able to proceed with the task and later i realised that i was a master so the behaviour and logining in as other users didnot let me work with the task
