Teamsite installation disk space issue

Hi All,

I have an issue with disk space on our server with our Teamsite installation and wonder if anyone experience the same thing and could give some advise as what the best approach would be.

Teamsite version: 6.7.1
Server: Windows 2003 standard edition SP2

This installation is on our development server and it's not a production server

Installed on server on the C: Drive: Teamsite,
Teamsite Search Component,
OpenDeploy 6.0,

The installation was done on a server that has 30 GB of disk space and we notice now that we are slowly running out of space on the disk, we increase the space to 100GB but this was done on a separate drive the D Drive.

1. What would be the best approach to move the existing installation to the

drive?

2. Should all the application be move to the new drive or should only one or 2
component be move?

3. Should the best approach be to re-install everything on the new drive?

4. Is it possible the move the IFS Volume (Y) to the new drive without re-
installing Teamsite?

Any advise or suggestion would be appreciated.

Moving your mount location to your new drive location and doing necessary changes in configs should be good.

But you were talking of applications and all what kind of applications are they.

If you have no content and it is a brand new installation I would recommend uninstalling and reinstalling it. If you have content and the first one is not an option then search on support site or open a support case. You will get detailed instructions. You will primarily be moving the iw-store directory and also your search indices. You might have to change the location of your log files also to the bigger drive.

A couple points, have you figured what is using the majority of disk ? Unless you have a ton of logs, iwhome and odhome should not be too big. If you have iwstore there, then there are easy ways to move that. Finally the search shared filesystem can get fairly large, and you should be able to move that without too much trouble as well.

Is there any documentation on what need to be done in order to move the mount drive, or should raise the issue with support so they can help in that process.

Hi I did look at what was taking most of our disk space and at this time the mount drive is the one that take most of the space the iwstore and search are still fairly small.

Your TS Admin should be knowing how we mention backing store locations and where in TS config files and how to activate it or you can refer TS Admin guide of 6.7.1.

Also would suggest you to wait for others suggestions before you really go with this step.

What do you mean the mount drive is using most of the space ? What folders are very large (> 10GB)

Right now my IFS Volume mount drive is 28 GB so it's the one taking most of the space.

iwstore is 56 MB and shared is 6MB

The mount drive has only one website within and we still need to add 2 more site, it will grow larger and if we could only that to the new drive it sound like the proper solution given that only that can be move and that the configuration change can be made without to much problem.

OK, so you are a bit confused here.

The mounted drive is a virtual drive, so if iwstore is on C: then the details of the Y: drive will be the same as the C: drive. It is not extra space.

You should look ONLY at C: and start figuring what is taking up space.
