Installation order

Hi All,

I saw a bug listed in the forums somewhere that the installation order for OD and Teamsite should be OD 1st and the Teamsite next due to the fact that the Teamsite has later version of jvm as OD so installing OD after Teamsite installation will overwrite the jvm?

Can anyone tell how far that is correct and if this issue has been fixed in the new version of OD 6.2.0 and Teamsite 6.7.1 (without sp1)

Hi Munish,

Here is the KB article which syal was refering to I guess ... 56722

I go with you too Munish because I didnt see any effect myself on our QA box but if IW is making it as an KB then they might have cetainly found some issues for few customers.

That is the same KB article that I am refering to. Below is some content from that article.

"It is recommended to install OpenDeploy before installing TeamSite 6.7.1. This is because TeamSite 6.7.1 is shipped with a new version of JRE and if you install OD after installing TeamSite 6.7.1, then it overwrites the JRE. A bug has been filed for this issue and the bug number is 68629."

I dont know if that bug has been fixed or not. Even if it is fixed in sp1 then it would not make much difference as to install sp1 we would have to install 6.7.1 anyways.

Note: This should affect only those customers who upgrade from OD 6.x to 6.1 and simultaneously upgrading to TS 6.7.

we are doing everything on a new server. So do you mean to say that we should be ok? So the order should not really matter right?

We have to do a new install as we currently have 6.5 on solaris 8 which is not support for 6.7.1 so hence going to solaris 10.

Well definitely I am not going to do what one person does or says here on devnet and do not assume you or anyone on devnet to be responsible if something goes wrong, infact no one should unless one is directly dealing with Interwoven folks. Smiley Happy
