Clean install of 5.5.2 on Win2K produces iwwebd er

We have built a new WIn2K Server SP-2 box and performed a clean isntall of TS552. After the IIS port selection process, which we left at default, we get a Severe error when the installer tries to create the iwwbd service in the registry - the error is "Unable to retrieve DisplayName of iwwebd service from the registry"
We were installing as a user with local admin rights, and earlier requests by the installer to modify the registry worked properly.
We continued this install and all the other IW services installed correctly but iwwebd.
We have uninstalled the product completely and reinstalled as the local administrator and afre now sitting on the same error screen - any ideas would be appreciated
Further investigation reveals no license will work on our install - either avlid license or a temporary "global" license. When we ran tspostreboot.pl manually to enter a license key, the command window threw errors like
"TeamSite I18N initialization failure. To run TeamSite I18N version, please make
sure $iwhome/lib/locale/*.NLS exist."
We are in New Zealand....

What is the locale setting on your server?

The locale setting was English (New Zealand). We have now reformatted and reinstalled the box using English(US) as the locale and the installation has completed normally.
We will need to test whether we can now change the locale successfully, and if not, what impact working with a US locale will have on our environment

See I also thought so.. Hence I asked you which locale you were using. Glad that you went ahead and did the right thing.

I am not sure if you can change the locale or not but we can certainly try. We may have to modify some files. You have brought up a very interesting question/post.

I doubt that it will really have any impact if you use the US locale. Since to the best of my knowledge, there are no diff between US English and NZ English. Am I right? Do you guys have special character like they have in German or French? The only difference I can think of is that, you may see difference in spelling (which should not be a big deal), e.g: Color and Colour.

Hi

The only big difference for us is date format - we use day-month-year as opposed to month-day-year and this may affect the way perl script and livedate/killdate xml tags work, but we'll look into that. I hope they think about us Kiwis next time Smiley Happy

Hi,

I do not think that the date format difference will cause a lot of headaches. Though it depend on what you are planning to do. You know, if you want, you can always contact IWOV support and file a feature request.
