Database deployment not enabled

OD version 6.2.0.0

Hi,

I'm new to configuring DataDeploy and I seem to be missing something.

My configuration file will OpenDeploy content when I comment out the dbLoader section, but fails when I leave it in.

The deployment fails after ENTERING [commit].

Where I think the problem is:

When I click DataDeploy Configuration in the Admin UI, under Configurations, I get the message Database deployment is not enabled in the server configuration.

In the _odbase.log file I get a message
ERROR:ErrorInvoking DataDeployCannot communicate with DataDeploy
Receieved error code : 1

In the odbase.xml file I've configured the databaseDeployment section as follows:

Also, I ran the iwodserverreset after I made the changes.

Any thoughts?

There is another module that must be installed with OD to make DD work, have you downloaded it and installed ?

from the DD admin guide:

DataDeploy is a licensed add-on module to the OpenDeploy base server. Both of
these capabilities are described later in this chapter. Refer to “Add-On Module Licensing”
on page 152 in the OpenDeploy Installation Guide for more information.

Since rebooting the server, the odbase.log no longer post the message that it can't comunicate with DataDeploy.

Is it possible that a reboot is needed after configuring datadeploy in the odbase.xml and that an iwodserverreset isn't enough?

iwodserverreset (or iwodcmd serverreset) only picks up some changes to the odbase.xml - like the allowedHosts section - it most likely will not pick up a change regarding the enablement of DD - for that you would have to do something like:

c:\> net stop iwod60
c:\> net start iwod60

...or reboot :-)

restart should do the trick

don't forget to specify the Teamsite version in the deploy.cfg if you have TS 6.5 or higher and want to deploy things from the vbacking store.
