How to create Windows Service for LiveSite Run Time

We've installed TS 6.7.1, OD 6.1.1 and LiveSite 3.0 Service Pack 1 on Windows 2003.

In the LiveSite Installation Guide, in the "Install SP1 in the Runtime Environment System," the last step is: "Start the Web application server." That's Apache Tomcat in our case. Looks like that, by itself, isn't sufficient, is it?

An earlier step instructs to copy runtime\pkg\runtime.bat.template to runtime\runtime.bat. They meant run.bat, right?

Anyway, there needs to be a Windows Service to start up the LiveSite application, right? (No, we don't want to execute "run.bat" manually and tie up a window.) Can we coax the Tomcat Windows Service, which is currently set up to be run Manually, to start LiveSite somehow?

I'd think the Interwoven documentation would mention something about this, but I didn't find anything in the Interwoven Knowledge Base either. Or in DevNet either, so far.

You can use javaservice(http://forge.objectweb.org/projects/javaservice) to run LS Runtime as windows service.

runtime.bat is right, I guess the run.bat confusion is from the fact that LiveSite Targeting uses run.bat to host the ILog JBOSS server(do you have Targeting installed?).

Eventually I received what I needed from Interwoven to create a LiveSite Runtime Windows service (to run our Apache Tomcat-based LiveSite application). The 1st step is to download JavaService 2.0.10, as you said. It does run on Windows 2003 also.

The next step is to install a "win.svc.bat" from Interwoven in ls-home. Then one has to set the $IW_...$ variables in it, e.g., $IW_JAVA_HOME$, as appropriate. Finally, run this batch file (after stopping Tomcat).

No, we don't have Targeting yet. But I thought Targeting was meant to be installed on the TeamSite side?
