Unable to login to CC Professional

Hi,

I have installed Base release of Teamsite 6.7.1 on Windows 2003 Server (SP2) – Fresh installation.

When logging into the Content Center Professional using admin account which I used to install the TS, I am getting “Failure in Operation” error (attached file containing screen shot).

Moreover I have checked for the logs located at C:\Program Files\Interwoven\TeamSite\local\logs\iwui\servletd_out.log for the error

2008-01-29 14:13:46,099 [http-8080-Processor23] ERROR com.interwoven.ui.teamsite.auth.CSClientContext () - Unexpected authentication failure
com.interwoven.cssdk.common.CSException: H1A-4F341-6727\admints6(Failure in operation)

Could any one throw light on this?

In my previous organization, during the training of LiveSite and TeamSite 6.7.1, Interwoven's training guy emphasized that the account should be in the name of
'Administrator' and not in something like 'Admin'.

That can be the problem.Try with 'Administrator'.

Did you get this resolved? Please update on your issue. Also FYI, if you ever end up to contact support, one thing they would say is to down grade your Windows service pack to SP1.

No, I got an admin account name "training" that to created only for the system and is not in domain.

I hope if I get the account with administrator the CC Pro UI login problem will solve is that i am right in my thinking

Well you need to dig in more. You said you logged i as a user with admin prevelages and installed TS. Are all your services working fine? Ask your system admin to login as "administrator" on Teamsite(Local administrator).

Ask him to check if you had enough prevelages as well (As a Luxury you can ask him to set you up in Master Role).

Then try login in, you should be fine.

In general, you want to avoid installing Interwoven products to /program files/ because some things randomly break when they encounter a path with a space (somewhere a " " is missing around a command...).

Don't see this as the problem here, but something to keep in mind. Most people just install to c:\iw-home

As to your specific problem... is the server in a domain? Maybe try pulling it from the domain, and then trying again to log in with some local_administrator account.

It is that simple. One and the only boot-strap Windows account that is allowed to login right after install is Administrator.
Get it, request your Admins to create it temporarily if needed. Note that it will automatically have Master privileges.

Log in as Administrator. Add Team Site user "training" from GUI (Administration-Manage Users-Add User)or CLT iwadduser with
master credentials. Log off and log back in as the Master User you've just added. From this point forward you have your
own bootstrapping account for Administrative tasks. 'Administrator' account can be now removed.

FYI - you can also manually edit the tsusers.xml to add the account you used (e.g.: if the organization doesn't give you access to the Administrator account or renamed it, etc.) - however you will need a local administrator account named "Administrator" in order to run iwmigrate - you may also have to disable domain_local_groups in the iw.cfg when you do the iwmigrate (both of those tidbits from a case I've been working through with Support within the last two weeks).

Also as a safe practice, ensure not have any spaces between pathname(eg, like C:\Program Files).
