With the below piece of code, I'm trying to attach extended attribute in my Presentation template and end up getting ERROR:00920

use TeamSite::Config;
# setting metadata on the files here, because I have the corrected url string
my $iwhome = TeamSite::Config::iwgethome();
my $setattr = "$iwhome/bin/iwextattr";
my $outFile = iwpt_get_ofile_name();
my $keywords = qx($setattr -g TeamSite/Metadata/KEYWORDS $outFile);
my $productnumbers = qx($setattr -g TeamSite/Metadata/PRODUCT_NUMBERS $outFile);
my $cmd;

Error message from iwutild_cmdout.log is below:

ERROR:00920: Error locating /default/main/development_2007/WORKAREA/new_web/test/product_page_template_testing1.jsp

The error caused by this line of code:
my $outFile = iwpt_get_ofile_name();

I'm not sure what causes this problem, because I have this problem only in my new box which runs TeamSite version 6.7.1 (which was installed recently) unlike the old server TS6.1 which is still running in different box and I could not reproduce this error, where the code works fine.

any idea ?

I believe, this is because of the iwextattr command. iwextattr can be run on an existing file only..it seems for TS 671. I also ran into the same issue and that what I could find.. if you create the file before running the iwextattr command, you could workarround the issue

Can you post a little more code? first, what is $cmd and second where are you setting the attributes.

isnt the syntax Usage: iwextattr [-s attr=value | -g attr ] vpath
I only see you using -g to get the attribute, where is the set part?

and I also agree with moonkhanna. I dont think you can set the attributes without creating the file first.

May be you can try to generate the file using iwgen command in your pt and set the attributes after that statement, but I wonder if you might end up generating the output file twice unless there is a way to disable generate happening from button click.

You can perhaps do something like the following:

qx(touch $outFile);
my $keywords = qx($setattr -g TeamSite/Metadata/KEYWORDS $outFile);

That feels like a patch though, in any case for the brand new "outFile" you'll get empty $keywords string.
I think the issue boils down to how to process new Files. The question would have been the same in any version, not just 6.7.
( Error codes may differ though )

If you look at the code - it's using the '-s' flag and therefore is attempting to set, not get, the values. There are other variables being used within that code that presumably have values to be used for the setting, but it is unclear from what was posted from where those values were retrieved.

If you're trying to retrieve existing EAs on a file - I recommend using the '-l -x' flags and then parsing the XML that is returned.

If you are trying to set multiple EAs on a file - I recommend using the '-s -x' flags with a properly formatted XML input string.
