Preview error when editing a dcr in Teamsite 6.7

When we edit a dcr and do a preview Preview is not displayed. Servle_out.log displays the following error

check if you have special characters in the dcr name.

Note - even if you remove the special characters, you would not still be able to preview\ generate the DCR. You will have to create this DCR fresh

There is no special character in the dcr the same works when we create a new dcr and then hit preview it only fails when we edit the dcr

if you are able to generate its something to do with your preview-dir configuration in templating.cfg. Please paste your configuration to the post

this happens for all users. Preview works when we create a new dcr it doesnt work when we edit the same dcr and click on preview

edit iw.cfg and add this in the Templating area

preview_history_limit=50
run iwreset

Also check to see if the user TSIMP_servername has permissions to write in teh root of the workarea.

Finally, open a DOS or Unix shell in the workarea an look to see if any files zz_* get created when you try to preview

i added the preview parameterto the iw.cfg. that did not help. The zz files are getting created when we create a new dcr and then preview. But the same does not happen when we edit a dcr

edit the DCR, delete all the zz files and click preview

I deleted all the xx files and edited the dcr and clicked on preview the preview window did not show up and the zz file also was not created

I too have a similar problem.

1> Preview doesnt work for all the DCRs in a branch but Generate does
2> Preview works in most of the branches
