Make sure that logical 'AND' is lover-case.

Ah - lover-case - is that a term used by people who love typing? :-)

To clarify (in case it's needed) - the expression is evaluated by Perl, which is case-sensitive (regardless of the platform you are running on) - and is an operator in Perl, AND is not.

Yes - if you want to use the && operator you would have to use && - but the 'and' operator is essentially the same (with lower precedence) and less likely to cause problems in Perl/XML hybrid code. See perldoc perlop for more info.
