Error adding Year datatype to metadata group

Im trying to add a piece of metadata called graduation year of datatype year to a MediaBin metadata group - i go with all the default values creating the metadata, but when i try to add it to a group i get the following error...

There was an error editing this metadata group.

The parameter is incorrect.

Are you able to add any other metadata to that group? Can you try creating a test metadata group and add the graduation year metadata to it?

yes i can add plenty of other metadata, just not any w/ a "Year" datatype to my groups

What is the min, max and default value for your graduation year metadata field?

I have tried min 1900, max 2090, default 2007 - didnt work

I have also left the values all as defaults (empty, empty, 1) and this doesnt work either...still get the error w/ both

note that when i go back to the Year item to review the defaults, Mediabin automagically inserts Minimum Value as -2147483648 ?

Verified. Looks like a bug in the web client. It works fine using the windows native client.

In fact, though you get the error in the web client behind the scenes that metadata group gets created. But that "year" metadata is not added to it.

Please contact support to file a bug. You can use the windows client in the interim.

May I know the reason why you do not use the windows native client?

access/install issues vs using the web based client? looks like i will need to the windows client tho to create tasks, etc...

You are right. Also the users who usually ingest assets find it easy to do with the native client. It has drap and drop capabilities, permission changes are easy etc.,

You should at least have the windows native client for users who ingest a lot and admins.
