Problems w/ ECM connector configuration

We are still getting the 2 following errors trying to get the ECM connector and MediaBin working together:

Could not verify if assets can be imported from MediaBin.

Unable to import assets from MediaBin. Check permissions on the webservice container's transfer folder.

is there something we are missing? we have configured permissions as the documentation states:

Import from MediaBin Requires Anonymous Access to the Transfer Directory The ability to import digital assets from the MediaBin server requires that IIS be configured nto allow anonymous access to the MediaBin transfer directory. By default, anonymous access to the transfer directory is not enabled. Refer to your MediaBin documentation for more
information on configuring anonymous access.

Can you verify that your MB webservices is working properly by itself? Refer to the MB admin guide for instructions on this.

I am assuming that you checked permissions both on TransferFolderWS and TransferFolder20? And also the webservices URL etc. in TS admin screens.

What type of authentication are you using in ECM connector? Is that user id able to log in to MB and browse/download?

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

In IIS, permissions for “TransferFolderWS” is set to Everyone, Full Control and Anonymous access is allowed for the IUSR for that server.

Application pools on the MediaBin server are running as “Network User”.

MediaBinWebService folder has the TeamSite user (iwcmsadmin) added with read/write permissions

PLATFORM INFORMATION:

We are running TeamSite 6.7.1 SP 1 on one Windows 2003 server and MediaBin 4.6 Build 25 on a different Windows 2003 server.

Both? we have this option selected - is there a specific log file to help me debug this issue? i dont see anything being updated in

\\XXXXXXXX\Interwoven\MediaBinServer\Logs

Try to login as the TeamSite user, but use the MediaBin guest account if unsuccessful

I am able to login to Mediabin directly using my personal active directory account, and also w/ the guest account. We also set the guest account as a mediabin admin, and the errors still show in TeamSite - thanks

is there a log w/ details of these errors? im having no luck finding it in either TeamSite or MediaBin...

well i can login to the web and windows clients w/ my AD account - i didnt do the config/install so could you point me in the right direction to check? is it in a config file in mediabin? ts? i dont see anything in the guis

You can verify if LDAP is configured in iw.cfg of TS and MediaBin Enterprise Manager tool of MB.

If you want to use the TS user to login to MB transparently then LDAP needs to be configured and used.

yeah we are just using AD, not LDAP - so it looks like we will have to configure/use LDAP in both TS and MediaBin to resolve the connector issues? thanks for the help

reading through the documentation again why should we not use: ???

Guest login. Connection is attempted using a “Guest” account established on the WorkSite MP or MediaBin server for use with TeamSite. This account information must be configured in TeamSite prior to the connection being attempted. This single account applies to all TeamSite users. This method is also known as “proxy login.”

If you want to restrict MB folders based on userid in ECM Connector you will have to use the option I mentioned. If you want everyone to see everything in MB then you can use the guest login. Thinking long term (unless yours is a very small implementation) you should go the LDAP way. That requirement will come up Smiley Very Happy

I am also having this problem, was there a solution? I realise that going over to LDAP is a solution and probably what we will do in the long term, but we would like to use the guest login in the short term.
Are you saying that the only solution to not getting the guest login working is to go over to LDAP?

we got it working it w/ the guest account - here is a screen shot of our config:

did you actually try it? we opened a ticket w/ iwov and they told us it was really working in the backgroup despite what the ecm connector admin page displayed - when we did try to import from mb via a template - it worked. give it a try anyway
