branch and workarea security and display

I have a set of users who are members of their own group. They are not members of anyother group except iwEveryone. I've a branch and workarea specifically for them. They are able to see ALL workareas when they use CCPRO but can only see a workflowModels workarea in CCSTD. I've been reading the Admin Guide section on bransh and workarea security. The following excerpt from my iw.cfg is applicable.
iw.cfg:
branch_security=true
workarea_security=true

I want these users only to see/have access to their workarea and branch in both CCPro and CCStd. I'm having a hard time finding which configuration files or UI functionality I need to use to affect permissions to realize this.

Can anyone offer suggestions/guidance? Pointing me to documentation sections would be helpful and appreciated too.

If they are Master users - the branch / workarea security will have no effect on the visibility of the branches and workareas in CCPro -- Are these users Master users?

These users are not Maseter Users.

Are you on windows or solaris? I believe there is a strong difference between these two (windows being "easier" here, meaning the areas will show more often).

And mind you, the ts-docs are completely useless in this area. You up for trial and error. :-(

I remember we need to check box "restrict access" on the branch permissions so that it will not display.
