problem in open deploy

Hi all,

I am facing some issue while working with deployment task in workflow modeller.

I am using the following command on deployment task in modeller.

C:/iw-home/iw-perl/bin/iwperl
C:/interwoven/OpenDeployNG/solutions/perl/iwodstart.ipl Deploy -inst
100820071 -k username="simptcms\administrator" -k mysender="simptcms" -k
myarea="Y:\default\main\PlayGrnd\avyawahare\STAGING" -k myfilelist="" -k
myreplicationfarm="SERVER" -k mydeployserver="simptcms" -k
mytargetarea="D:\DeploymentFolder\Tanuj" -k doDeletes="yes" -k
mydeploymenttype="AREA"

Its showing Status = 1 with modeller but when I run this command on DOS it runs successfully with status =0.

can someone guide me on this issue ???

I would look at the log files resulting from both methods of running the deployment (from the modeller vs. from the command line) to see what's happening.

A couple of notes though - the command should probably be using C:/interwoven/OpenDeployNG/bin/iwodcmd start not C:/iw-home/iw-perl/bin/iwperl
C:/interwoven/OpenDeployNG/solutions/perl/iwodstart.ipl and the parameter -k myfilelist="" looks suspicious - but then I don't know anything about the actual deployment configuration file being used.

-k arg - key/value substitution with "key=value" as arg
-sim - turns on the simulate deployment option
-V arg - log level (arg is normal or verbose)

-odinst arg - use OpenDeploy instance arg

-uuid - returns deployment uuid

exit code:
0 - succeeded
1 - starting of the deployment failed
2 - deployment ran and returned a failed status
9 - deployment completed with errors

STATUS: 1

and yes inside IWUTIL log file I am getting errcode=123.

It looks like either the iwodstart.ipl is broken or something else about your command line or configuration is broken.

I again suggest you change your command to call iwodcmd start directly and see if that resolves the problem.

I used an external task with an ipl which runs the command....
and it runs sucessfully but when I run the saem command using deploy task It logs this error in IWUTILD.....

What do you mean "what parameter ..."?
Did you read the manual?
Did you run the command with the '-h' flag?

I'm not sure about the iwutild error - I believe this may have been posted about before in one of these forums, but I didn't bother looking (not my problem right now) - if you can't find information there - you may have to contact Support to see if they can help explain the cause of such an error.

However, the script you posted is badly written, and will not work as a workflow externaltask script.

Hi Kumar,

I feel, you are missing some context here. Probably the deploy task already gives you the command it wants to use. You do not need to type in anything there. Yes, you will have to configure wft_opendeploy.cfg to point your deploy task to the right place. Check the manual and search for wft_opendeploy.cfg and wft_opendeploy.ipl.
