Teamsite 6.7.1 SP1 could not display common name (last,first)

Hi,

I just recently upgraded one of our Dev box to 6.7.1 SP1, but just after the upgrade Teamsite start displaying the network id (server\id) instead of the display name of an user. I know that from 6.7.0, Teamsite will display the user friendly (last,first) name of the user instead of the network id. I just dont know why it is not working on this box. I have another box with 6.7.1 SP1 and the names are displayed correctly. Probably some network issue on this box, but all teamsite permissions are working fine. The only notiable error i found on the iwtrace.log file is this:

It would help if you also told us what OS you're on - however, based on "server\id" I'll assume Windows.

Are the accounts local on that server? or are they AD / LDAP accounts?
If they're local on the server - you need to make sure that full names are defined for the accounts at the OS level.
If they're AD / LDAP accounts and they're the same accounts as accessed by your other server - then it would seem like their might be some iw.cfg stuff needed to make sure that the TS server can talk to the AD / LDAP server correctly (or perhaps a server "trust" setting at the OS level?)

We are running on windows 2000.
And users are on active directory. The funny thing is that we do not have any permission error just not able to yet the display name.

Hi,

Can you check if your teamsite service is running with the user who has permission to read the active directory.
You can check the user, running the service at the box where this is working.

This might be the reason but i not sure at all. Remember when you use tslicinfo.exe to get server info for generating license, on our dev box (where we have the issue) the domain is NoDomain. But the confusing thing is that domain users have no problem log into teamsite. Very weird.

These issues would be logged in your iwtrace log. run a iwreset. Things should turn up fine then. If that does not help.. try enabling netmonitor.

Check the manual for netmonitor if you are not aware
