about OD license

Hi,
In my present organisation, we are using OD 6.0.2.1.0 . I was checking for license file and found it as C:\iw-home\OpenDeployNG\ODSP.lic and not C:\iw-home\OpenDeployNG\etc\OD.lic.

Can anyone throw some light on this?

Hi Maverick,

Were you provided a special license from Interwoven? Or did you generate your own? The reason I am asking is that it looks like someone has renamed your od.lic file. By default, when you generate a key from the support site, it will always send you a file named od.lic.

Is your instance of OpenDeploy up and running? If so, your license file may be in another location as well. I believe you can specify a folder other than the default location for the license key, but I don't believe you can change it's name.

I'm not sure about the ODSP.lic file - but if OD doesn't find its license file it basically grants you a 30-day trial license - check ODHOME/od.log for information about the license. If you don't see anything there - stop and restart the service and then look again.

Our partners are typically sent license keys from Interwoven, but as a customer you are able to generate your own keys. Adam is correct that OpenDeploy is installed with a 30 day license key. I have not heard of an odsp.lic. I suspect that it might be a re-named license key, but I would recommend logging into the support site and generating a new key for your OpenDeploy server and placing it in the correct location (specified in the installation guide).

I think it gets renamed when you install the service pack(SP).
