how about just ODBase !!!
System
Hi,
I have been working on IW for about 5 yrs and never got this requirement. We have a large number of servers (about 200 servers)where we need to deploy couple of scripts related to those application servers. We can store the code in TeamSite however how can we deploy the code to somany servers. Is it possible at all without having to install OpenDeploy receivers on all the target servers.
Thanks,
Venu

Well i haven't seen so many servers with out OD at all. If these scripts are are essential then only way i would see is to deploy these scripts to a common disk (SAN location) and have all the servers copy them into their local drives.
If you would have an OD, using latest OD versions it would be possible to a batch deployment.
Thanks

Not with Open Deploy, no. There are numerous "File Distribution" products on the market, both commercial and free.
Regardless of the problem at hands, you may want to start looking if this "Allocate couple Files to hundreds of Servers" request is to become a norm

Your choices are limited, but you have choices. You can use the FTP adapter (or one of the other adapters). If you have filesystem access you can use remote firectory access \\server1\put\it\here etc from OpenDeploy
That being said, most companies find the OD is much more secure than either of those options. You will be best if you bite the bullet and load the receivers.
There is not an adapter for rdist, but you could put one together (if this is a Unix shop) without too much trouble.
