iwgen failing

I have an external task which generates the file using iwgen. It was working before but when I updated templating.cfg to have an entity reference to an xml file having category and datatype information it stopped working and throwing this error in iwutild_cmdout.log-
/default/main/Toyota/ToyotaAdmin/WORKAREA/tstrls/templatedata/ToyotaVehicles/PhotoGallery/presentation/PhotoGallery.tpl: does not have a configured filename extension

The file still generates properly from the ccpro interface.

Here is my templating.cfg change -
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="no" ?>
<!DOCTYPE templating SYSTEM "templating6.0.dtd" [
<!ENTITY category1 SYSTEM "/opt/iw-home/local/config/wft/custom/toy2007_templates.xml">
]>
<templating>
&category1;

I have an open case with IWOV Support for that issue for several weeks. Do not waste your time trying to fix it, I've been through that already.
Actually, had the latest update today - they are still looking. I'll report a status when I have one. Meanwhile you can perhaps reinforce my case if you want to.

As promised - here is the issue Status in the form of excerpt from today's IWOV Support mail:

...able to reproduce the issue...a bug (TS-4927 for 6.7.2) was created and engineering has committed the fix to TS 6.7.2...
There is not fix or patch available to mitigate this issue.
