server processes launching twice

We're running into a strange problem on our DEV server. Most administration scripts have a tendency to fire twice when they're executed. Best example is running 'iw.server start'.

I've attached a log of the processes that run after executing the script. You can see the start command launches a second version as a child and both seem to compete. The result is that the launch sequence is completely locked out. Killing either of the duplicated processes is the only way to finish the startup. It makes no difference whether the parent or child process is killed.

Env is TS6.7.1SP1 running on Solaris 10.

Anybody have any thoughts as to what may be causing this?

Did you upgrade recently by any chance? I have seen this issue when an improper upgrade is performed?

No recent upgrades and we have a second server running the same version of TS without this problem.

Full version string on both servers is (both running Solaris 10):
Version: Interwoven TeamSite 6.7.1 Service Pack 1
Build Number: 68040
