DD not deploying

Hi,

Deployment result is successful. But not deploying datas into database.

But the deployment works for other DCRs in the same datacategory.

I have updated deploy.cfg file with teamsite version in the base server:
teamsite.version: 6.7.1

TS: 6.7.1 SP1 Build 68040
OD: 6.2.0.0.0 Build 68916
Windows 2003

So to point out the obvious, DD is not seeing the DCR. Typical reason is the TeamSite Version, which you stated is in the deploy.cfg

After that, it is likely a DD config issue, so if you want some help, you will need to post that alone with how you invoke it.

Did you restart the Base Server (net stop iwod60 / net start iwod60) after including the teamsite.version information in the deploy.cfg file?

Yes I have re-started the service. But still the same error.

The OD Receiver is 6.0.2 and OD Base is 6.2 version. When i checked with Interwoven support, they told that Base 6.2 supports 6.0.2 version.

And do i need to update the deploy.cfg on the OD Receivers with Teamsite version like OD Base?

nope, you should not need any changes for the receiver.

Compare you config to the manual. I have seen this issue a few times and it is likely Option, area, etc in the source definition.

No you don't need to change the deploy.cfg on the Receivers.
Your problem is with DataDeploy which is managed from the Base Server - and the error message you posted is consistent with not having specified, or having specified incorrectly, the teamsite.version attribute in the deploy.cfg as of the last time the service was started.

Can you post your actual deploy.cfg file as an attachment?

I have attached the configuration xml. This is the deployment configuration which has this issue for that DCR. But other DCRs are working good.

This is not fixed the issue. Still getting the same.

Yes its not working for only this DCR. Works fine on other DCRs.

DD is unable to find the DCR. Can you copy/rename it to something else and deploy?
Does the record exist in the DB? Is this a new one?
Check your deltracker table for the entry and post it.

Copy & Rename to another DCR - Not worked. Getting the same result.
But if i create a new DCR with the same values then it works. In the new DCR the primary key is different from the old. So i guess that worked.

But still this one is the same error.

ok so it is either DCR or DB record specific. Is the DCR already in the DB ? Can you look at the table ?

Anything special on the filename ?

I have edited & deployed the newly created DCR few times, everything was working good and suddenly one deployment deleted the record and i am getting the same error on this newly created DCR also. And all the deployments after that gives the same result. DBD: Path not found -- interpret as 'NotPresent'. Again its the same issue.

There is nothing special in the DCR filenames.

And the file is not in the iwdeltracker table!

I asked for the deploy.cfg - because the error sounded like there was a problem with the teamsite.version information and I wanted to see if there were any spurious characters in the file. Other than the fact that it is in DOS format (^M's at the end of every line) it looks fine.

I'd suggest opening a case with IWOV Support - since the error message is indicating that the teamsite.version isn't set [correctly] - but it appears that it is (and I'm trusting the fact that the server was restarted after that edit was made).

I noticed the error has a file with 24 characters in the filename. Are all of your tests with similar length filenames ?

Yes. Even the lengthier filenames are working well.

Shooting the dark here, post part of the log (same part as in post #1) of a page that works.

Do both use backslash ?

How are you running the deployment ? In workflow ?

just a thought.. have you tried opening that DCR in Internet Explorer (quick way to see if the XML is valid).. if the XML in that DCR is invalid (like you have and & or some UTF-8 character, in a non-utf-8 XML file or something), it can throw the same Not Present error.

I have opened the DCR in IE and there is no error in the XML structure.

After discussing this issue with Interwoven Support, they mentioned that OD & DD is not closing the ports after the deployment and its a bug in OD. They suggested to check netstat -a and if there is more CLOSE_WAIT then that might cause this issue. They suggested to increase the number of ports assigned for deployments.

Will try this and update.

since its only 1 DCR.. and other works.. seems like its either something with that particular XML or permissions..

what if you create a new DCR..
-- then preview the source of the old (non-working) DCR (so you can get the XML)..
--- then download (not edit) the NEWLY created DCR.. and paste in and reupload the old DCR XML..
-- then try to deploy that new DCR..

since your saying a new DCR with the same data works, you can probably rule out permissions if you can push the same XML (just in a different file)..

I know you said you copied the file to a new filename.. but I think a copied file just takes the permissions of what it was copied from..
