Data Deploy Connection Error

Hi All,

We are trying to configure DataDeploy and test a sample deployment but we are getting a connection error. Tried using the hostname, localhost, loopbackaddress with jdbc Smiley Surprised

dbc:xxxxx but no use. MySQL is listening on port 3306.
DAS: Connecting to the database...
DAS: Try connecting using jdbc Smiley Surprised

dbc:tsapp01:3306?database=iwov...
DAS: SQL failure
DAS: ERROR:ERROR: Could not connect to [jdbc Smiley Surprised

dbc:tsapp01:3306?database=iwov]

The MySQL being used is version 4.1.7 which is the supported version with OD 6.0.2. The database is already created in MySQL with the name auction and having three columns Item, Description, and Quantity with the types as mentioned in the DD config. DD is enabled.

Attached is the log file and also the xml configuration. Using command:
iwodcmd start datadeploy/internet/auction/auction -k iwdd=basearea
We are also unable to test the deployment through the Admin UI.

Any help will be appretiated.

Sure.

To solve the problem, I first downloaded the MySQL connector from the mysql website and then installed it after which I created a System DSN in ODBC. I then used the System DSN name I created, in my db attribute of database element in my DD config. Also other needed parameters are the user and password and vendor even though they were provided when creating the System DSN.

This is the first time I am installing and configuring DD on Windows platform, so did not know about it as there is no information about creating/ensuring the DSN in the documentation. Some people need to understand that not all things can be found in the documentation. Smiley Wink
