List only users/groups in branch in Approval Workflow

Hello -

We are using Workflow Modeller 1.0 & TeamSite 6.7.1 and OpenDeploy 6.1 on Windows to handle multiple branches/workareas and multiple websites.

We are developing an approval workflow where the author has to select reviewers from TeamSite to review their content prior to pushing it out to the website.

We would like the ability to display to the author only users/groups from the branch the author is running the workflow from. We have many users on the system and do not want the author to have to sift through hundreds of users to find the ones in their branch/workarea.

Does anyone know how this might be possible?

Try parsing the output of:

iwaccess permission-entries branch-vpath -inherited -expand-groups

If you want to get the group names, drop the

-expand-groups

directive.

Note: You cannot run this command directly from javascript - so if you want to do this during instantiation you would probably have to customize the instantiation form, add a callServer() call to a script to produce the same results ... or you might be able to do the whole thing in Java (CSSDK) and hook it in as a WFM variable of some sort (I haven't done too much with WFM thus far - so I can't really help you there)

Alternatively, create a datasource (it can be based on one of the examples supplied OOTB) to do this for you.

if u r a java guy,then here is the solution:

1.In Java Class you have to get WF Instance then Iterate the Task List that u will get from WF,finally get your desired task by name identification.
2.Then u have a current task object call method getGroups() with a parameter of branch.
3. It will give you groups of that branch as a object,add them into an List and return.
4.Finally register the datasource to DataSourceConfig.xml at /iw-home/conf
5.Run make-toolkit.ipl and reset IWServer.
6.Here is what u want.

I had done the samething for my WF,so it will solve your problem definetely.
