JVM Issue with a Twist
jajtiii
Greetings,
One of my users had to install the new Sun version of Java. Per usual, the applet that loads to import files broke (not showing all files and directories on his XP workstation.)
This is a frequent occurrent (TS v 6.5, Solaris 9) for us, and we typically have the user go into the Advanced settings for IE and deselect the item where it tells IE to use whatever new version of Java has been installed.
But, this time, that fix is not working.
One thing of note is that his install now displays (in IE advanced settings) as 'Java 2 1.4.2_16', as opposed to the typical 'jre 1.5' or whatever.
The bottom line is that this appears to have done more then simply installed the new version, as IE cannot display the import applet correctly.
I am wondering if there are any workarounds that folks are familiar with.
thanks,
jones
