We're getting below errors when data deploying the contents of a file to a field iin the database which is of "CLOB" datatype. The error is shown below:

assuming its not a driver issue, do you have the proper priv's to create tables? CLOBs create a tmp IWOV table (I forget the name) and then move the data out and then cleanup.. the other thing to look at might be if there any tmp IWOV CLOB tables that are there.. and drop them and let DD recreate them..

i mention it becuase of the below in the error:

Looks like driver issue.

This is a ORACLE jdbc driver issue and we need to have the latest drivers matching the DB downloaded from http://www.oracle.com/technology/software/tech/java/sqlj_jdbc/index.html and saved to OD-HOME/ojdbc14.jar
Once the correct drivers are in place the above issue should not be encountered and deployment should be successful with both BLOBs and CLOBs.

Even I feel that the OCI driver file is not proper. Check your classes*.zip file for compatibility.

We tried to change the value-from-field attribute to value-from-attribute, now it is not showing any error in log files, but the value is not updated in table. We found the following message in log life.

DBD: Column: PM_SCOPE, value-from-attribute: Project_Info/0/Scope, Index: 2,Converting '...........' to CLOB

thats probably because its not an attribute, so its getting no data.

from the manual:

value-from-attribute: specifies the location in the XML file of the value to be deployed. Should be used when the database column maps to an attribute of the DTD.

value-from-element: specifies the location in the XML file of the value to be deployed. Used when the database column maps to an element of the XML file.

depending on your xml, it should probably be value-from-element

This is a jdbc driver issue. Download the latest Oracle 9i jdbc driver (ojdbc14.jar) from Oracle site and for deployment to both 9i and 10g databases. It works.

I am not using the use-oci=yes, which says in the manual

"use-oci — specifies whether DataDeploy should try to connect to the database server using the OCI driver (if the attribute is set to "yes" and the vendor attribute is set to "oracle"). default is no"

Thanks for the information. I tried with new jar files from oracle web site still same issue. I might be missing a small point somewhere if this is not a bug. Did anyone update CLOB fields in 6.2?

Actually we opened a case with Interwoven about this issue but, they couldn't resolve this as well. Seems like this is a bug in OD6.2 and after we downgraded our OD to 6.1, it's working.

This is how we could able to resolve this.

Ok..But we can't go back, we are trying use Windows 2003 SP2, so we have to use OD 6.2. We also opened a case with interwoven and waiting for the result.
