Query regarding MediaBin upgrade

We have to upgrade our MediaBin server from 4.5.0 to 4.6.1. We are using SQL server as our database.

At present, MediaBin and database servers are on different machines. Requirement is that firstly, we have to install MediaBin461 on a new box and then link our existing database with this new server. Still we have to use two different boxes for MediaBin server and database.

I couldnt find the procedure for this in Installation and Upgradation guide.
Any pointers in this regard would be of great help.

You have to install 4.5 on the new machine
Stop services on your existing server and copy to your SQL Server and MBDataDirectory
Change settings on the new machine to point to the copied SQL Server and MBDataDirectory. There is a KB on support about this.
Start services on the new machine and verify functionality
Run 4.6.1 installer on the new machine. The installer will upgrade your DB
Start services on the new machine and verify functionality

Please be aware that deltas will not be carried over if you turn on services on your old machine that is currently live.
