Simplest deployment to invoke DNR?

Hi All -
I'm going to use OpenDeploy as the conduit to send a TeamSite workflow status to a process on a remote machine (hey, why write a web service when I've already got an agent ready to communicate?!).

I want to create the simplest deployment that will let me DNR-invoke a script remotely. If I don't need to send any assets, that'd be good.
Anyone have an example of this? I'll be trying to put one together myself, but if someone's already been through this, I'm glad to leverage your work.

Have you looked at the samples included with OpenDeploy ? There is really not much to the DNR.

Yes, I've used DNRs several times, but it's always in conjunction with sending content. I was checking if anyone had done it not depending on content.

Right now, I've got a "don't do" OD conf executing against an empty filelist and it's passing the parms nicely to the script being called by the DNR on the receiver. This'll work fine.

A simulated deployment is actually executing the DNR script? That seems like a bug (questionable feature) to me....

But if it works, go for it.

Simulated Deployment (iwodcmd start -sim) and <transferRules dontDo="yes"> are not functionally identical.
Neither mode actually Deploys Files, unlike -sim however "dontDo" creates (missing) target Directories and executes DNRs.

That's interesting - I was under the impression that both equated to the same thing. Thanks for the clarification (though I still wonder if this is a "bug" as in an unintended difference).

Hard to tell without looking at the formal Specs, note though that "dontDo" Target directories creation is documented
