author's view differs in webdesk and webdesk pro

My NT user account has access to a certain workarea and to exactly one folder within this workarea and this folder's content.
When I log in with as "author" using webdesk pro I can see the workarea name and all folders in it. But I can only access the one folder I have the NT-access-rights to.
However, if I log in using webdesk pro (same user account), I can see and access all folders and subfolders in the entire workarea. (Here I can see the files but have no access to them.) Only those files in folders I have NT-rights on I can also access.
Shouldn't the two UIs behave the same? Or am I misunderstanding something? Has anyone experienced something like this?
I feel it rather confusing for an author using webdesk to see all folders and not only those he has the explicit right to.

It seems as per your post that you are logging in as same userole and username and that too webdesk-pro. So what is the difference in the login pattern that you have?
Second, please also describe the usergroup information and is it showing N/A with the content.

Yes I'm using the same userrole and username when logging in to webdesk or webdesk pro, so the login pattern is the same.
The difference is that in webdesk pro I can see and browse only those folders of my workarea that I have NT access to. I can open them and view/edit the files contained.
In webdesk I can see and browse
all
folders, even those I don't have NT read access rights for. However, I can only view/edit the files that are contained in the folders I have NT rights for. All other files display the n/a flag.
Why can I see these folders and files in webdesk even though I don't have read access? The author users should only be able to see the folders and files they have at least read access to.
Hope this isn't too confusing, but I don't know how to put it in better words.

I have this problem also. If i log into webdesk as an author i can see the folder BUT not the files. Using the exact same account I log into Webdesk pro and I can see the folders and the files!

Does anyone have a solution for this ? I'm having the same problem, but in SOLARIS.
