No relative paths in VFE

We just upgraded TeamSite from 6.5 to 6.7.1, and am now running into an issue with Visual Format Editor.

When the users uses VFE to create a hyperlink, it will not allow them to do any relative paths. The link always has http://teamsite at the front of it. If you go into the HTML view in VFE and remove the http://teamsite, it just puts it right back in when you switch back to the other view. If you put an address of some other site in there (ex. http://www.google.com) it leaves it alone. It seems as though it is somehow requiring the http://.

Is there some setting I'm missing so that they can do relative paths? It worked fine before the upgrade.

Hey guys we had the same issue, our partial solution was to chage in the file visualformatconfig.xml located at Z:\iw-home\httpd\iw the following line:

Possible values for resolvepath are: full, host, local, given
resolvemethod value="LOCAL" src="" allowoverride="True" resolve="False"

This line is near the bottom of the file

The value in your file should be "host", if you change it to "local" it will not add anything to your relative paths

I said partially solution becasue if the path has something like href="/fellowships.htm" it will be changed to href="fellowships.htm" Note the forward slash was deleted. Weird uh!

PS If you are using customized VFE configuration files it should be done in each one.

Behavior of links in VFE after on TS 6.7.1 SP1:

resolvemethod value="host" ... will add the forward slash in the beginning of the links.

resolvemethod value="local" ... will remove any forward slash from the beginning of the links.

Well, our users want to enter "/link.html", links with the slash at the front, but without the server name.

I mean, given that TS is not part of the web cluster, that would make much more sense, than entering absolute links...
